We are all aware of the many reasons why swimming is beneficial to our health. According to the U.S. Water Fitness Association (USWFA), swimming provides us physical, social and mental benefits. Swimming improves strength and flexibility, enhance muscular stamina and balance, a stronger heart, and better physique or figure. But did you know that swimming is also great for individuals recovering from surgery. In many cases doctors will recommend, that women who have undergone breast surgery swim as part of the recovery process. Swimming is considered advantageous because it is a low impact exercise for all your major muscle groups.
