Clients ask us on a regular basis..What will my natural copper look like as it begins to oxidize? It’s a hard question to answer because it really depends on many different factors most importantly where you live. Pollution, temperatures, and moisture can have different effects on natural copper. We always like to say that if you look at several old pennies you can get a good idea of what shades of variations you can get. This new copper shower pan which was just installed is big enough to fit a small dinner party. (I am not making any suggestions here however). The copper was left in its natural state with no waxes or patinas. Over time this shower pan will continue to darken and patina on its own. If you are wanting that new copper penny look than more regular maintenance is needed.
