Maintenance. To some it’s considered a dirty little word, but when you own a metal hot tub it is one of the most important aspects of owning an aquatic vessel.
Water in any hot tub including a custom spa by Dimaond Spas is guaranteed to get murky, dirty and develop a scum line at the water line over time. Some of the reasons that this occurs can be due to any number of reasons but heavy batherload, algae, environemental debris and regular maintenance are some of the biggest culprits.
Preventive maintenance is the most common problem of dirtly water and scum lines. It is imperative to have regular scheduled maintenance on your hot tub as this will lengthen the life of your hot tub preventing it from wear and tear, component damage and maintaining the overall look of your luxury spa.
Diamond Spas recommends a weekly, quarterly and yearly maintenace system as detailed below:
Water Care Instructions
After each use Add 2 oz. of H202 (35% Hydrogen Peroxide)
(Not applicable for Clear Comfort Systems)
Weekly Test and maintain pH of 7.4-7.6
Test and maintain H2O2 at 40-80 ppm
(Not applicable for Clear Comfort Systems)
Clean filter with high pressure spray nozzle
Clean spa shell
Vacuum foot well and seats
Clean cover, scrub with cover cleaner if necessary
Quarterly Drain, Clean and Refill Spa
Clean filter with filter degreaser
Clean and treat thermal cover with vinyl protectant
Yearly Replace filter cartridge
Replace UV Bulb (Not applicable for Clear Comfort Systems)
Test the spa’s GFCI breaker
Replace CC Cartridge (For Clear Comfort Systems Only)
DO NOT LEAVE SPA UNCOVERED WHILE EMPTY
DO NOT use Chlorine, Bromine or Salt Water Products. This will cause staining, pitting and or other undesirable results. Any damage to the spa caused by use of Chlorine, Bromine, salt water products and/or other chemical other than peroxide is not covered under warranty.
