A few weeks ago ABC’s World News with Diane Sawyer ran a special week long segment where they asked a family to go through the entire contents of their home and take out everything that was not made in the USA. What was left out of the entire home? One singular lamp shade. The news piece caught the attention of many viewers.
Manufacturing is so critical to our countries prosperity and growth. “Manufacturing supports an estimated 18.6 million jobs in the U.S. – about one in six private sector jobs. ABC in their in-depth week long special chronicled a family that wanted to re-do their home with all-American goods and the challenges they faced in doing so. What they found as many of us have known- it is difficult to find “Made in USA” these days. Most all of the big box stores we typically frequent are filled to the brim with products all NOT “Made in USA”.
So, for a typical consumer it can be daunting and time consuming to find items for your family and your home that are “Made in USA”……Possible??? YES!

We encourage all of you to think about your purchases, try to Buy American when possible, speak to your local retailers- encourage them to sell more products ‘Made in USA’.
